Mizpah GoodNews Ministries
Mizpah Social Work: Contributing to Nation Building
The Mizpah Ministry Department values social work within society. Therefore, this department conducts programs accordingly. Mizpah Social Work plays a crucial role in nation-building through its community-focused initiatives. By addressing key social issues such as healthcare, housing, education, and marriage support, Mizpah contributes to the overall development and empowerment of individuals and families within the nation. Through its efforts, Mizpah helps to create stronger, more resilient communities, ultimately fostering progress and prosperity at the national level.
Leadership Training
Mizpah GoodNews Ministry organized a seminar for our leaders with special emphasis on leadership at Mizpah Centre, Nallur. The focus of the seminar was to equip attendees with skills, tools, and inspiration for leadership in the post-modern era. Our programs were designed to identify, train, and retain leadership traits. Trainees explored how to enhance overall learning agility, adaptability, and productivity, and learn how to adapt ministry strategies for desired outcomes.
Moral Science Camp
Mizpah also prioritizes the moral training of school students, recognizing its potential to shape a bright future. The society holds high expectations for us as we oversee Christian work in Palakkad district through our enlightening activities for the next generation. The student wing conducted moral science camps for Mizpah English Medium School (MEMS), engaging hundreds of students each time.
Biblical moral short stories serve as an effective method for imparting Biblical values to children of all ages. These stories, dealing with morals, ethics, responsibility, and virtue, have a lasting impact. Students narrate some stories that explicitly list the moral at the end, while others convey values through the account itself. These short stories, combined with singing sessions, are utilized excellently to share morals. They transcend time and location, demonstrating enduring values.
During these sessions, if students encounter individual issues, they are encouraged to approach their parents for support. Special sessions are conducted for those needing additional assistance. Every third Friday afternoon, MEMS students undergo such training on our premises.
Medical, Dental, Eye Checkup Camps
MGM organizes medical camps periodically in the society, particularly in three panchayats within Palakkad
district, Kerala. Thousands of guests have registered and received dental and general treatments, with numerous beneficiaries also benefiting from the eye clinic.
In collaboration with the India Dental Association, Coimbatore Eye Foundation, and several medical doctors, we provide free consultation, treatment, and medicine. Rotary Club International recognized us by presenting the Role Model Trophy at a special function held at its Chittur chapter.
MGM’s success is attributed to the active involvement of other churches, pastors, and collaborative teamwork with parishioners, which mobilized masses for the medical camp. Students wholeheartedly contributed by working as dental assistants, general medical assistants, and eye clinic assistants. This experience allowed them to engage with local people through charity work.
Compassion Connect has designated our village as their nodal center for extending compassion, and we are grateful for their initiative and provision of equipment to accomplish this significant task. Dr. Constant Lu from the USA conducted a special coaching class for selected dental assistants, empowering them to continue charitable work in their villages.
Drug Awareness And Musical Extravaganza
Mizpha understands the importance of drug awareness among people, particularly among students. MGM organized a Drug Awareness and Musical Extravaganza in various areas of Vadakarapathy and Puthussery panchayats. The event commenced with a sermon, followed by songs sung in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, and English, accompanied by shared testimonies under the bright moon and stars, with a sea of friendly, expectant faces before them. The crowd found inspiration, and our students actively distributed brochures, generating momentum.
Despite skepticism about open-air meetings, we successfully conducted them in various locations within Puthussery Panchayat and Vadakarapathy Panchayat. The meetings delivered a profound, inspirational message promoting social and health awareness, encouraging attendees to abstain from drugs. Students proudly displayed anti-drug slogans on placards throughout the gatherings. Attendees came to understand that contrary to popular belief, we are not cosmic accidents or masses of protoplasm wandering aimlessly on the planet. Instead, we are specially made by a loving Creator who intends for our lives to be dynamic and purposeful.
Helping Hand
MGM is dedicated to assisting deserving communities through various initiatives. Since its inception, MGM has been helping people from different walks of life. This isn’t just a one-time plan but a lasting, long-term vision. As a result, hundreds of individuals have received medical aid, over 10 families have been provided housing support, and hundreds of students have benefited from educational assistance. Additionally, nearly 30 girls have received help with marriage facilitation. Through these efforts, including healthcare provision, housing construction, educational sponsorship, and marriage support, Mizpah strives to promote comprehensive development and empowerment among individuals and families in communities.
